This is a list of some of the best talks of all times from the General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have included also some talks not given in General Conference. There are many other great talks, but these 50 are among the best.

“Beware of Pride,”- President Ezra Taft Benson

“Most of us think of pride as self-centeredness, conceit, boastfulness, arrogance, or haughtiness. All of these are elements of the sin, but the heart, or core, is still missing …The central feature of pride is enmity—enmity toward God and enmity toward our fellowmen. Enmity means “hatred toward, hostility to, or a state of opposition.” It is the power by which Satan wishes to reign over us”

“The Purifying Power of Gethsemane,” – Elder Bruce R. McConkie

“I am one of his witnesses, and in a coming day I shall feel the nail marks in his hands and in his feet and shall wet his feet with my tears … But I shall not know any better then than I know now that he is God’s Almighty Son, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, and that salvation comes in and through his atoning blood and in no other way.”

“How to Obtain Revelation and Inspiration for Your Personal Life,” — Elder Richard G. Scott

“The more closely you follow divine guidance, the greater will be your happiness here and for eternity—moreover, the more abundant your progress and capacity to serve. I do not understand fully how it is done, but that guidance in your life does not take away your agency. You can make the decisions you choose to make. But remember, the disposition to do right brings peace of mind and happiness.”

“Safety for the Soul,” – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“I want it absolutely clear when I stand before the judgment bar of God that I declared to the world … that the Book of Mormon is true.”

“Love Her Mother,” – Sister Elaine Dalton

“How can a father raise a happy, well-adjusted daughter in today’s increasingly toxic world? The answer has been taught by the Lord’s prophets.”

“None were with Him,” – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“Trumpeted from the summit of Calvary is the truth that we will never be left alone nor unaided, even if sometimes we may feel that we are.”

“Stand Strong Against the Wiles of the World,” — President Gordon B. Hinckley (The Family: A Proclamation to the World address)

“We, the First Presidency and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator’s plan for the eternal destiny of His children.”

“Because She is a Mother,” — Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“If you try your best to be the best parent you can be, you will have done all that a human being can do and all that God expects you to do.”

“The Mediator,” — Elder Boyd K. Packer

“And, by eternal law, mercy cannot be extended save there be one who is both willing and able to assume our debt and pay the price and arrange the terms for our redemption. Unless there is a mediator, unless we have a friend, the full weight of justice untempered, unsympathetic, must, positively must fall on us. The full recompense for every transgression, however minor or however deep, will be exacted from us to the uttermost farthing. But know this: Truth, glorious truth, proclaims there is such a Mediator.”

“The Book of Mormon—Keystone of Our Religion,” – President Ezra Taft Benson

“There are three ways in which the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion. It is the keystone in our witness of Christ. It is the keystone of our doctrine. It is the keystone of testimony.”

“Of Souls, Symbols and Sacraments,” – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“First, we simply must understand the revealed, restored Latter-day Saint doctrine of the soul, and the high and inextricable part the body plays in that doctrine. One of the “plain and precious” truths restored to this dispensation is that “the spirit and the body are the soul of man” (D&C88:15; emphasis added) and that when the spirit and body are separated, men and women “cannot receive a fulness of joy” (D&C93:34).”

“Mothers Who Know,” – Sister Julie B. Beck

“Who will prepare this righteous generation of sons and daughters? Latter-day Saint women will do this—women who know and love the Lord and bear testimony of Him, women who are strong and immovable and who do not give up during difficult and discouraging times.”

Patience” – Elder Neal A. Maxwell

“Clearly, without patience we will learn less in life. We will see less; we will feel less; we will hear less. Ironically, “rush” and “more” usually mean “less.” The pressure of “now,” time and time again, go against the grain of the gospel with its eternalism.”

“Go Bring Them In from the Plains,” – President James E. Faust

“May each of us resolve to serve our fellowman. And may our Heavenly Father make us equal to the great followership that is required of us, and help us to go and bring in those who are now “on the plains.””

“Are We Not All Mothers?” – Sister Sheri L. Dew

“Motherhood is more than bearing children. … It is the essence of who we are as women.”

“The Bitter Cup and the Bloody Baptism,” – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“If we are Christ’s and he is ours, are we willing to stand firm forever? Are we in this church for keeps, for the duration, until it’s over? Are we in it through the bitter cup, the bloody baptism, and all?”

“The Seven Deadly Heresies,” – Elder Bruce R. McConkie

It is incumbent upon us to believe the truth. We have the obligation to find out what is truth, and then we have the obligation to walk in the light and to apply the truths that we have learned to ourselves and to influence others to do likewise.

“The Inconvenient Messiah,” – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

If your prayers don’t always seem answered, take heart. One greater than you cried, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” If for a while the harder you try, the harder it gets, take heart. So it has been with the best people who ever lived.

“The Tender Mercies of the Lord,” – Elder David A. Bednar

“I testify that the tender mercies of the Lord are available to all of us and that the Redeemer of Israel is eager to bestow such gifts upon us.

“Good, Better, Best,” – Elder Dallin H. Oaks

“We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best because they develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen our families.”

Forget me not” – President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

“While understanding the “what” and the “how” of the gospel is necessary, the eternal fire and majesty of the gospel springs from the “why.” When we understand why our Heavenly Father has given us this pattern for living, when we remember why we committed to making it a foundational part of our lives, the gospel ceases to become a burden and, instead, becomes a joy and a delight. It becomes precious and sweet.”

Sunday Will Come,” – Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin

“Because of the life and eternal sacrifice of the Savior of the world, we will be reunited with those we have cherished.”

“Men accomplish marvelous things by trusting in the Lord and keeping His commandments—by exercising faith even when they don’t know how the Lord is shaping them.”

Remember Lot’s Wife: Faith Is for the Future – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland

“The past is to be learned from but not lived in. We look back to claim the embers from glowing experiences but not the ashes. And when we have learned what we need to learn and have brought with us the best that we have experienced, then we look ahead, we remember that faith is always pointed toward the future.”

The Need for Greater Kindness – President Gordon B. Hinckley

“Why do any of us have to be so mean and unkind to others? Why can’t all of us reach out in friendship to everyone about us?”

Finishers Wanted – President Thomas S. Monson

“From the very beginning to the present time, a fundamental question remains to be answered by each who runs the race of life. Shall I falter, or shall I finish? On the answer await the blessings of joy and happiness here in mortality and eternal life in the world to come.”

Living Worthy of the Girl You Will Someday Marry – President Gordon B. Hinckley

Joseph Smith – Prophet of the Restoration – Elder Tad R. Callister

“Through Joseph Smith have been restored all the powers, keys, teachings, and ordinances necessary for salvation and exaltation.”

The Doctrine of Christ – Elder D. Todd Christofferson

“In the Church today, just as anciently, establishing the doctrine of Christ or correcting doctrinal deviations is a matter of divine revelation.”

Of Regrets and Resolutions – President Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Cast Not Away Therefore Your Confidence – Elder Jeffrey R. Holland,

Fourteen Fundamentals in Following the Prophet – Elder Ezra Taft Benson

“God’s revelation to Adam did not instruct Noah how to build the Ark. Noah needed his own revelation. Therefore the most important prophet so far as you and I are concerned is the one living in our day and age to whom the Lord is currently revealing His will for us.”

Divine Constitution – President Ezra Taft Benson

“For centuries the Lord kept America hidden in the hollow of His hand until the time was right to unveil her for her destiny in the last days. “It is wisdom that this land should be kept as yet from the knowledge of other nations,” said Lehi, “for behold, many nations would overrun the land, that there would be no place for an inheritance” (2 Ne. 1:8).”

The False Gods We Worship – President Spencer W. Kimball

“The resources that have been placed in our power are good, and necessary to our work here on the earth. But I am afraid that many of us have been surfeited with flocks and herds and acres and barns and wealth and have begun to worship them as false gods, and they have power over us.”

Of Things That Matter Most – President Dieter Uchtdorf

“If life and its rushed pace and many stresses have made it difficult for you to feel like rejoicing, then perhaps now is a good time to refocus on what matters most.”

God is the Gardener” – President Hugh B. Brown

Whatever undertakings may demand of you and of your attention, I tell you, young men and young women, you cannot make a better resolution today than this: “I am going to keep close to the Lord. I am going to understand Him better, and, understanding Him, I will understand myself and will try to put my life into harmony with His.”

Spiritual Crocodiles – Boyd K. Packer

“These spiritual crocodiles can kill or mutilate your souls. They can destroy your peace of mind and the peace of mind of those who love you. Those are the ones to be warned against, and there is hardly a watering place in all of mortality now that is not infested with them.”
