The list of 8 new LDS Mission Presidents released on February 9

The following eight new mission presidents and companions have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July.

Lynn J Ames, 61, and Rebecca Bennett Ames, five children, Twentieth Ward, Salt Lake Ensign Stake: Missouri Independence Mission, succeeding President Adams J. Love and Sister Louise M. Love. Brother Ames is a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, high councilor, bishop, bishopric counselor, elders quorum president, ward executive secretary, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Italy Rome Mission. He was born in Moroni, Utah, to Ronald Kenneth Ames and Velma Williams.

Sister Ames is a Young Women adviser and former stake Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society president, ward Primary presidency counselor and Cub Scout leader. Sister Ames was born in Salt Lake City to Peter Hetherington Bennett and Rebecca Bennett.

Leandro de Oliveira, 47, and Arina de Oliveira, two children, Boa Viagem Ward, Recife Brazil Boa Viagem Stake: Brazil Rio de Janeiro North Mission, succeeding President Júlio César Kern and Sister Denise Dornelles Kern. Brother de Oliveira is an elders quorum president, ward mission leader and ward temple and family history leader and former stake president, stake presidency counselor, high councilor, stake Young Men president, bishop, bishopric counselor and missionary in the Brazil São Paulo Interlagos Mission. He was born in Gurinhém, Brazil, to Luiz Leandro de Oliveira and Maria Madalena Cordeiro de Oliveira.

Sister de Oliveira is a seminary teacher and former Sunday School teacher, stake and ward Young Women president, ward Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor and ward music chairman. She was born in João Pessoa, Brazil, to Antonio Pereira dos Santos and Tanea Maria de Lucena.

The following 16 new mission presidents and companions have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin their service in July.

Lenard Brunsdale, 55, and Karen Brunsdale, seven children, Canyon View Ward, Highland Utah East Stake: Guatemala Guatemala City East Mission, succeeding President Stephen K. Christensen and Sister Marilyn F. Christensen. Brother Brunsdale is a former stake mission presidency counselor,high councilor, bishop, MTC branch presidency counselor,ward mission leader, Scoutmaster and missionary in the Chile Viña del Mar Mission. He was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to Kenneth Almo Brunsdale and Shirley Ann Matheny Brunsdale.

Sister Brunsdale is a former ward Relief Society presidency counselor, stake and ward Young Women presidency counselor, temple organist and ward choir director. She was born in Los Angeles, California, to George Andrew Woods and Ann Shumway Woods.

Paul R. Burdon, 61, and Elsie C. Burdon, four children, Billingham Ward, Billingham England Stake: Adriatic South Mission, succeeding President Hal G. Anderson and Sister Julie B. Anderson. Brother Burdon is an Area Seventy executive secretary and former mission presidency counselor, stake president, stake presidency counselor,high councilor, bishop, bishopric counselor,institute teacher and missionary in the England London South Mission. He was born in Billingham, England, to Raymond Burdon and Isobel Owens.

Sister Burdon is a ward Young Women presidency counselor and former stake Relief Society and Young Women presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Primary president and seminary teacher. Sister Burdon was born in Newcastle, England, to David William Deacon and Elsie Carr.

Brother Abadillo is an MTC branch president and former MTC presidency counselor, mission presidency counselor, stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, branch president and missionary in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission. He was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Julio Cesar Abadillo and Ana Maria Gordillo de Abadillo.

Sister Abadillo is a ward missionary and former stake Relief Society and Young Women president, stake Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor, ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and missionary in the Guatemala Quetzaltenango Mission. She was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala, to Luis Manlio Castillo and Violeta Caceros de Castillo.

Mark H. Ballif, 52, and Julia W. Ballif, 10 children, Fallbrook 5th Ward, Vista California Stake: Philippines Manila Mission, succeeding President Michael J. Fermanis and Sister Raelinda Fermanis. Brother Ballif is a stake president and former stake executive secretary, bishop, bishopric counselor, Young Men adviser and missionary in the Belgium Brussels Mission. He was born in Van Nuys, California, to John Lyman Ballif III and Barbara Nielson Ballif.

Sister Ballif is a stake director of “Savior of the World” and former ward Primary president, ward Primary presidency counselor, Relief Society teacher, Primary teacher, gospel doctrine teacher and Primary music leader. She was born in Provo, Utah, to C. Terry Warner and Susan Carol Lillywhite Warner.

He was born in Salt Lake City to Lawrence Wesley Alder and Carolyn Alder.

Sister Alder is a ward Relief Society teacher and ward organist and former ward Young Women president and adviser, Relief Society pianist, Gospel Doctrine teacher, and Cub Scout leader. She was born in Salt Lake City to Rulon Nichols Smith and Edith Law.

He was born in Pocatello, Idaho, to Richard Dean Bendixsen and Ida Carol Bendixsen.

Sister Bendixsen is a stake Young Women president and former ward Relief Society president, ward Young Women president and presidency counselor, and Sunday School teacher. She was born in Portland, Oregon, to Reed I. Oldroyd and Aileen Oldroyd.
